CLASSUM Beginner’s Guide for Admins

Are you new to CLASSUM?
Are you about to start a class in CLASSUM, but confused about how to use it?
From checking user settings to inviting members, we made a checklist for those who are creating Spaces for the first time!
You can easily find all the information you need below.

1. Checking User Settings

 Browser Requirements

※ You can also use CLASSUM on Safari and Microsoft Edge.

2. Creating an Account

Sign-up via Email

Access homepage → Select SIGN IN in the top right corner → Sign-up
Enter your email address and password → Sign-up
Check your inbox for a new email → Click Verify Email → Confirm email verification in the pop-up page → Go to screen ④
After step ③, click Verification Complete

Click Agree for Terms & Conditions
Set your profile → Confirm
If you click on the profile picture, you can change your photo!
Choose one of CLASSUM’s avatars or upload your own picture.
You cannot edit your email when setting up your profile.
You have successfully signed-up!

Sign-up via Apple Account

Access homepage → Select SIGN IN in the top right corner → Sign-up
Click Sign-in with Apple
Enter your Apple ID and password
Enter in the authorization code sent to your Apple device
Click Agree for Terms & Conditions
Set your profile → Confirm
If you click on the profile picture, you can change your photo!
Choose one of CLASSUM’s avatars or upload your own picture.
You cannot edit your email when setting up your profile.
You have successfully signed-up!

Sign-up via Google Account

Access homepage → Select SIGN IN in the top right corner → Sign-up
Click Sign-in with Google
Select Google account
Click Agree for Terms & Conditions
Set your profile → Confirm
If you click on the profile picture, you can edit the photo!
Choose one of CLASSUM’s avatars or upload your own picture.
You cannot edit your email when setting up your profile.
You have successfully signed-up!
Do you want to create a Space? Click the link below!
Do you want to enter a Space? Click the link below!

3. Sign-in

Access homepage → Select SIGN IN in the top right corner → Sign-in
Select sign-in method → Sign-in
If you select Stay Sign-in, you can directly access CLASSUM’s main page without going through a separate sign-in page.
You have successfully signed-in!

4. Creating a Space

Click and open the toggle → ② Create Space → ③ Free/Premium Space(for Premium Spaces) Enter the Space Creation Code
※ Free Spaces can be created without the Space Creation Code (Step ④). However, unlike Premium Spaces, there are some limitations in available features.
Once you input the Space Creation Code for the first time, you just have to set up Space details after Step ①, and click Create to open new Premium Spaces within the same organization.
⑤ Select the organization type and name → ⑥ Set up the Space name and Space owner’s name (※ Emojis can be used ) Set up roles and titles → ⑧ Set up tags → ⑨ Done!
※ Tip: For schools, set the Space name to the semester, class/course name, group name, etc. so they are easily identifiable for students. You can even use a single Space as a 1:1 chatroom for each student, depending on your course.
※ Tip: Contact the person in charge of the institution for the Space Creation Code.
Please note: The Space Creation Code is different from the Invitation Code to enter a Space! ⇒ Use the Space Creation Code to open a premium Space for your organization, and use the Invitation Code to invite managers and participants to each Space.
If you are linking CLASSUM to an organizational LMS, please refer to the separate user manual for your organization!

5. Inviting Participants

You can invite participants using two methods!
Please refer to the information below

1. Sending Invitation Emails

This option is recommended when..
⇒ If you have a list-up of emails in an Excel file, you can ‘Ctrl C+V’ students’ email addresses and invite multiple participants at once.
① Settings → ② Member Settings → ③ Invite Members → ④ Type in participants’ emails, select Access levels and roles → ⑤ Click Invite

(Picture 2) Enter member emails/assign roles & permissions, add/invite
※ An email is sent to participants with which they can immediately join a Space.
※ If participants have signed in to CLASSUM with the same email account as the email they received the invitation, they can immediately view the new Space under their Space list.

2. Sharing Invitation Code/Link

This option is recommended when..
⇒ If you find invitation emails cumbersome, share invitations codes or links during class sessions! Students can join the Space by themselves.
① Settings → ② Member Settings → ③ Invitation Code/Link → ④ Participant Code/Link → ⑤ Copy Code/Link

(Picture 2) Copy and Paste Admin, Participant Invitation Code/Link
You can refresh the page to get a new, random invitation code.
After inviting all participants to the Space, change the invitation code so that unrelated users cannot join the Space!
